Default LS1 PTV clearance

I'm planning on installing the Comp Cams grind no. XER287HR part # 54-448-11 in my stock bottom end ls1 around May. I also have a set of gm cast 243 heads and want to mill them 5-7 thou to even them out and also run the thinner felpro .041 head gasket for a tighter quench. Wondering if anyone has run this cam before and what their setup was like. I'm mainly concerned to what my approximate PTV clearances would be and if i would need to fly cut my pistons. Cam specs below and link.

Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift:238

Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift:240

Intake Duration:287

Exhaust Duration:289

Intake Valve Lift :0.605 in.

Exhaust Valve Lift :0.609 in.

LSA:112

You should check your ptv clearance but I say you will be good. Here is a good way to check.

Ya I'm going to clay the pistons or maybe try that method just wondering if other people have run a similar set up. Theres not too much information on the cam on the forums and I talked to comp about it and they were useless lol.

Default EAP for P/V Measurement

Hi RJ, state your Valve Drop, I could then provide your P/V using EAP.

What exactly do you mean by valve drop? And how can I figure it out? Sorry for sounding like a noob I'm still fairly new to engine building.

Default Valve Drop Measurement Method

Hi RJ, I am SURE many here need the same "tech"

The Term "valve drop" is a common term a machine shop uses to STATE the distance FROM the Head surface to the CLOSEST EDGE of a Valve both Intake OR Exhaust, EACH DISTANCE.

Ohhhh ok I understand now. Just talked to my machining guy (he has the heads and doing a full refresh with valve job milling and assembly) and he's going to get me the valve drop measurements tomorrow.
