Default LS1 Engine build

So i am starting a new engine build using a ls1 engine out of my 03 C5 Corvette. I am going to use the stock block, crank, and rods. I am going with a TSP MS3 cam 112lsa and a set of their 5.3 stage 2.5 heads. I am trying to find a set of pistons to use for this build but am not sure what i need/want. This will be a basic h/c/i car but i plan on spraying it with 100 shot every now and then. What pistons and size would yall recommend for this set up? Thanks for the info!

Big cams like lotsa compression. Pretty sure there’s a small dome option slug from TSP that can get you 11.5-11.7:1 range. Block decking and head gasket thickness can be used to manipulate it how you want But anything less than eleven will sacrifice torque and require the bottle to enhance the cylinder pressure

Aren’t the MS cams really close PTV clearance in stock head gasket non milled applications??? I mean he could fly cut but and aftermarket slug with reliefs and mini dome should solve both issues (clearance and compression)

Default RaceTec Forged Pistons

Hi 09, I can supply a RaceTec, AutoTec, Forged piston at 3.904".(Finish Bore Guess)

The first step is to Hone the Crankcase for finish bore/steel NPR rings.

NEXT is the "spec" the piston/pin/ring weight ?

From what i've seen the PRC 5.3 heads and MS3 cam combo has been done many times over on the stock pistons with no issues. I'm not sure on the actual clearance but I haven't seen any reports on it being an issue. Again this is what I've seen posted many times over the years with this combo, so I can't personally confirm it

if you can reuse your stock slugs that would be ideal. If your bore is out of round or worn too much I would step to 3.903” pistons.

If you definitely plan on spraying it I would build the motor with this in mind and gap the rings accordingly.
