Default Ls1 Piston ring gap

Can someone help me out, I send my LS1 block to the machine shop to honed and order piston rings. I mesure the ring gap and 1st .021 2nd ring mesure .022 but repair manual says 1st .009 to.0149 and 2nd .0173 to .0251. I talked to the guy from the machine shop and said that’s the way he set it up and I won’t have no problems can someone that had experience this please let me know. Engine is all stock. I’ll appreciate thanks.

You may have some but I'm thinking minimal. If your not comfortable with those gaps I'd just get another set and file fit them to the desired gap.
