Default Has anyone ever tried this cam?

Just wondering if anyone has tried this Summit camshaft. Specs are VERY similar to the GM ASA cam. For the price, I was thinking about giving it a try....

That lift is really low. What's the rest of your build look like?

LQ4 with LS6 intake and 243 heads. Been buying parts here and there. I’m kind of on a budget (still a student/apprentice). I thought that this cam and LS6 springs would be great for the price. The motor is going in a 69 chevelle with a TKO in the future.

I’ve always liked the duration of the cam. Seems good for mid range power and still have good street manners.

If price is your determining factor in cam selection be forewarned you may be leaving free HP on the table.

But.... If price is really that important to you, then look at the Elgin E1839P, or 1840P if you want to sound like you are ready for the track. You can find it on E-Bay, or Amazon.

There are some really good cams available from sponsors on this site. TSP, or WS6 store can set you up with a great cam, at a good price. Their cam & springs packages are hard to beat.

Actually, WS6 Store High Lift ASA cam was my cam of choice. However, I want to finish my motor. Trust me, not trying to be cheap. Still have to buy a TKO 600 sometime....

I have this cam and I love it. Great drivability and no issues tuning it.

If you want the low lift version, get the Howard's ASA and not the Summit one. The lobe profiles on those summit cams are laughably bad.
