Default Cam bearing roughness

Hey guys doing my first LS swap into my 67 Camaro. I purchased a used 5.3l and the plan was to clean it up put a cam in and go. But since I was unsure the mileage on it I pulled the heads to inspect. Cylinder wall looked great can still see cross pattern but I found water in 2 cylinders and surface rust on walls. So I pulled it all apart honed the cylinder ( it all came out ) I'm replacing all the rod bearings ( even though they have minimal wear ) pistons and rings. But when I pulled out cam I inspected cam bearings and they look good no bad wear on them but on the top side of bearing its has a rough texture ! The bottom is smooth like a normal bearing! But top side feels like a cats tongue! Crazy the bearing material is all there no worn just rough! The cam it self looks perfect. Is this normal? I read on another forum that it may be normal and its how GM install them? Anybody come across this?

I am disassembling a 2005 ls6 and the cam bearings are exactly as you have described.
