Up for a day and a half in a mad rush to get the car together and to the track, think I installed the bank 2 gasket backwards. Bank 2 temp drops down to 170-180 on the highway, up to 220 in traffic, spiked to 240 after 3 laps on the track - however bank 1 steady around 195-205. Haven’t lost any coolant, and I’ve purged the system same as always. Sound like a backwards gasket to any of you?
If GM MLS it is really easily diagnose. Look at the tab that sticks out from between the block and head. The tab should be between the first and second head bolt hole. If it is there you are OK, If it is between the 3-4 you have it backwards.
the fel pro has a visible rivet in the corner. examine the side that you think is correct and compare to the other. one side of the rivet will have smooth edges, the other is a little rough were the press pin came through
One side is definitely different than the other which should mean they’re both oriented the same way. Was trying not to have to pull the pump off if I don’t have to since that means the front of the car has to come off.
