Default 6.0L THIN head gaskets

Is there a head gasket set that is thinner than stock to boost the CR a tad?? I know they exist for the LS1, but do they for the 6.0L ???

thanks in advance

I put some custom gaskets on mine. Ordered them from cometic. I think they're .043" thick compressed.

I don't remember exactly. Pretty expensive, but they're awesome gaskets and I had the made custom bore size. I think I paid around $150?

what kind of compression will you have with this gasket? Are your heads milled?

Stay away from the Felpros 1041 they are rubbish blew 2 head gaskets just take a look at them and you can see they are not the real deal.

Using cometic now you can see the difference

you can use the late model z06 gaskets. they have a bore sufficient for a 4.030 bore, and I've checked em in at least 3 times at .043 crushed.

so the LS6 gasket will suffice for the 6.0 liter bore of 101.6 mm even though the LS6 bore is 99mm??

if yes, then I guess the bore of the gasket isnt exact to the bore of the cylinder

thanks

yes they have been used and are sufficient for a 4.030 bore. Its close, but it works just fine with a FATTY shot of nitrous the bore size of the gasket is always a little bigger than the hole. How much depends on the gasket maker.

actually, the ZO6 gaskets bore size is right around the 4" size, but I don't think they can accomodate a bore size above 4"... But I do use them on 3.905 bores all the time. They come out to be .047" crushed, although I've 'discussed/debated' this with Scoggin Dickey several times... the advertized crush is .065ish, but every time on the mic, they come out to .047 +-.001 Personally, I'll believe the measurments that I can actually see and check over advertised specs anyday....

The 6.0L gaskets are different than the ZO6 gaskets in that they have a larger bore, and these are the ones that can accomodate the 4.030 bore size, and probably even a 4.060 too. I haven't mic'ed a set of these crushed lately, but the last mic I did was on a set that had been preveiously crushed, and then removed from the motor, and my mic read in the .034ish range... although thats not the best/most accurate measurement method, so don't quote me on saying that's the final actual crush... I would assume it to be closer to the ZO6/LS6 gaskets thickness since they are the same design and each of the 3 layers is the same thickness and material type...

the GM part number for an idivudiual LS6 gaskets is 12573949 (they are identical/interchangeable from side to side)
The part number for a pair is 12498544

I have the pN for the 6.0 gaskets somewhere, just cant' find it at the moment...

I know the 6L MLS gasket is a 4.040 diameter and can handle a 4.030 bore. From what everyone says, it is a .060 compressed gasket though.
