Strange noise
Strange noise machine shop built 6.0 all new bearings, forged pistons and rods, arp rod bolts, new cam torquer 4, double springs and hardened pushrods. Ls7 lifters.
I had a miss shift 3-2. The rear locked up. I didn’t notice any loss of performance or noises. But i did some reading and saw how terrible this can be on the valvetrain. So out of paranoia I started carefully listening under the hood. I hear something. I can’t say if it was there before or not. But I’m noticing it now. It may be because i caused it, or maybe because I’m just now listening this closely while paranoid.
Its a faint tick. Or tap. It’s quiet. But it’s not so much the tick or tap, it’s the resonance of it. It makes a sound that seems to echo in the intake. My best analogy is, drum your fingers on your cheeks with mouth closed. Then open your mouth. The added tone you hear coming out of your mouth is the type of tone I am referring to coming from the engine.
