A friend of mine owns a shop and got a set of heads and a cam in as payment for some prior services from another client. He took it because he was interested in the cam. Now he has a set of 241/243 heads (can't remember which) that he wants to sell.
They are CNC ported and are bare without valves or springs. I saw them in person. They look clean and the machining looks to be well done. He wants $500 for the pair. Would it be worthwhile upgrade over my 806's? Is it worth the price?

With you having 806's I assume you got a 5.3. Those heads have bigger valves than your heads but don't have as much compression. If the other heads have 2.02 intake valves and 1.57 exhaust and have been milled JUMP on them. You might want to check the cost of the valves, springs and retainers, seals and locks, depending on you want they could run around 300 bucks

If there 243's id jump all over that, get some decent valves and springs and your good to go. Only problem i see is who did the port work, if the port work was done by a amateur then i would pass. If the ports are mirror shiny then they might of been done by a amateur shop, nice/shiny/mirror ports don't mean they were done properly.
