What exactly are the benefits of stage 2 5.3L heads? I'm planning on getting a TR224 cam, and was thinkin bout gettin new heads as well. What are the advantages/disadvantages of these heads?
Benefits:
Increased CR, more flow, more power.
(Do a lot of reading and research before choosing).
It took me almost a month to decide. Budget is important as is power goal and cam choice.
Amongst the best IMO are MTI, AS, TEA. ($1800 range)
A good lower budget alternative are PP (Check with TSP in TX) ($1300 range)
And then there are THE AFR's 205. ($1900>$2250 range)

i believe the 5.3 heads are a good choice for the $$$ minded!
they get a higher CR (10.8:1) without milling so you can run more lift on your cam!!!
to get a 5.7 head to the same CR you need to mill around .030 and can cause PVC problems for some guys!
look around!
