Conversion cam recommendations I'm sure I will get several but a good range would be helpful as for selecting the right duration.
What I am starting with is an LM7, it will be put in a 1962 Pontiac Catalina convertible, weight in stock trim is about 3750 - though I'm guessing the LM7 is at least 100 lbs lighter than the 389 poncho.
Transmission is an M20 muncie with the 2.52 1st gear, rear end is a 9.3" with a 3.23 posi.
No AC to run, but it does have power disc brakes.
Goal is not to make an absolute beast as the rear wheel wells won't accommodate much of a tire though I am planning on running drag radials in the rear. So, I think I'd like good streetable power that will run power brakes. Will also upgrade valvesprings to match. Lifters will be replaced when I do the swap.
Car will have headers and I don't know at this point if the truck intake will fit but I'm not at all opposed to running either a car or TBSS intake.

210-220 duration intake, 210-226 or so exhaust duration, 600 ish lift is what most 5.3 guys like in heavy vehicles (trucks) but that's also with an auto
The asa high lift from ws6 store would also be one to look at.

Our high lift asa cam did pretty good on an l33. even with a very aggressive cam, youre only lookin at high 300s at the wheels and youll toss your bottom wnd away.
Our high lift asa has a nice chop and would work well on the Muncie.
Cam and springs are $500 this month.

Take a look at the Summit Pro LS Stage 3 Truck Swap cam p/n SUM-8713. Why a "truck" cam? -We'll get to that in a second. It's a a 222/231 112 +5 with .545 lift for use with LS6 springs. The valve events are IVO 4btdc, IVC 38 abdc, EVO 52 bbdc, EVC -1 (1 btdc.). The cam timing is meant for serious punch starting at 2500 rpm and will make power through 6500. That's what it's going to take to get that thing to move out. A TBSS intake would be very helpful in that regard if you can make it fit.
