Would the comp918 springs be a good choice for use with a hot cam? I want
to use something a little beter than the LS6 springs.

I think they would be ok to use for the hotcom, a little too much if you ask me though. The lift on the hotcam is what, .525"? The 918's are good to .600" lift (pushing it though), what are the LS6 springs rated at? Something around .550" lift? I'd go with the LS6 springs being that they're probably less expensive and have gotten the job done for many people. 918's would work though.

 

thats correct the ls6 springs are good till 550, id go 918's and youll be fine may even find a set real cheap in the for sale section if on a budget

Actually..the 918 spring if installed at the recommended height of 1.800" can SAFELY handle a .650" lift..I run them on a cam of mine .610"/.615"...with no fears. These springs work their best if run .060" before coil bind..harmonics wise these springs will kick a dual springs ***....

 

you don't have to change out ls6 springs. it's a good idea to swap out 918's every 20-25k miles

 

Using the same cam...no change on an LS-6 spring..but on a much better spring you have to change them every 25k? What logic is that?

 

Softer springs last longer.

 

What's the difference between LS1 and LS6 springs?

 

i belive they are wound a little tighter.....
