LM7 or L59

LM7 or L59
I am looking for an engine for an LS swap. I was looking for a LM7 vin T motor, but have been talking to a guy with a L59 Vin Z flex fuel. Should I use the L59 or keep looking for a LM7. I am going to keep the engine stock. It is going into an old chevy truck for driving around town.
Thanks

That would depend on what you are looking for in an engine. Unless you see yourself running E85 or any other ethanol blend, there is no advantage to looking for an L59. Engine wise they are the same. One has a flex sensor and the other not. Get whatever is easiest to find in your area. The LM7 is more common overall, so should be easier to find. The Gen IV 5.3 engines (2007 on up LY5, LMG, LC9, LH6, LH8) would be good too with a little more power and more compression. They are also filling up salvage yards.

Yes if this is for a swap, there are advantages to L59 . Id look for 2005+ L59 ....... here is why flex fuel had returnless fuel rail, square stainless and flowed bigger injectors 37% more. L59 injector on returnless is 36lb vs 24lb for LM7 . This will be big enough for most mild 5.3 builds
