My setup, stock bottom end LS1 ,Prc stage 1 heads,233/239 TSP cam,LS6 intake. Now I am running am electric water pump and manual steering with aTH350 trans at 3200 race weight. I would be looking at the trans/converter to pick up ET.

The TSP Stg 1 heads are very nice for what they are, we have them on our wagon's LS with a 228/234 .627/.615 112+3 Cam Motion grind. In retrospect I should have got their 5.3L Stg 2.5 heads for my needs (give up a few cfm for more compression). But, there is no need for a bigger head on an LS1. Keep the heads and add a used Procharger - you'll be happier in the long run.

In my opinion they are over kill for a 346. Keep in mind for the longest time the best heads on the market were 205 cc, and now some of the best are around 220. 235-245 cc is usually what you'll find on a stroker. Oddly, that all being said, LS3 heads are 260 cc but TSP makes a 255 LS3 to increase port velocity.

There are caveats for all of it but I'd type a mile trying to cover them all.

If I were you I'd look at Trick Flow as cast 220's. They are $1700 and stomp absolute *** out of the box. If you want more from them you can have the bowls blended and ports ported.

Nothing against TSP, they make phenominal products. If you want to stick with TSP the 227 cc should be the better choice for a 346, unless it falls into one of those one off caveat things.

Edit: Also look into TSP, AI, TEA, and Frankenstien's port programs. They are all known to make great power for less than buying an aftermarket head. The aftermarket heads do have a couple of advantages like thicker decks and better valve angles, but if you aren't trying to make all the power and put the largest cam then a port program is probably better for you. But I can't stress enough how good the TFS 220 as cast head works.

I had TF 220's and a BTR stage 4 on my last car. I liked the combo. I was just going to try something different I guess. I'll look at the 227's also. Thanks.
