Lost compression can be caused by different things, but it does seem odd to lose the same cylinder on 2 new engines. do you know what caused it the first time?

Details on the setup would be helpful. It could be a fuel distribution issue. Mismatched set of injectors. Dirty injectors and other possibilities.

My guess is that the same people are working on it each time and didn't figure it out the first or second time.

That's all I can really say based on the info you gave.

Post details, it helps a ton since my crystal ball is currently down for repair.

When the first two failed, what did you find had actually failed or came apart?

Best guess with no info included: bad injector used on same cylinder each time

Without knowing what you mean by new engine my first guess would be a warped head being moved from block to block. Seems like many people consider a a shortblock and an engine as the same thing lately. If it's an entirely new crate motor then it's really just 1 or 2 things that could be the issue. Those would be improperly built or improperly installed.
