Default what to do?

a couple months ago I sent my engine parts to get cleaned at a local machine shop. I didn't notice that the numbers I wrote on my pistons were not there when I went to assemble my engine. What should I do? Thanks for the help!!!

You'll have to start off as if it's a fresh build and measure and see which pistons fit best where. Or ask the machine shop to assemble it so you don't have to jack with that part.

Some would probably tell you to just throw it together since everything is likely very close in measurements already. But I'd be hesitant to do that.

Hey, like pooter says, mike the slugs and holes and see what matches. Hopefully the slugs are all pretty close so it MIGHT not matter too much.

If you're going to measure and do it yourself, measure the pistons right around the wrist pin area, but 90 degrees off axis off the pin. Then measure all the bores/cylinders.

Measure the piston down there because they are tapered toward the top.
