I got to check out bare 205cc casting the other day when I was at GTP. The potential for those heads is almost limitless. 500RWHP heads/cam cars here we come.

I disagree myself, but we will have to wait and see.
What holds us back more than the heads is the intake setup's we have on LSx motor's.
The heads will generate better flow numbers than ever before and will make more power but 600 a common number isn't very likely.

i dunno i think these heads w/ on of the new intakes like the lsx w/ 90mm or ls2 and a nice sized cam not a solid roller. i think its possible with the right combination of parts.

All this is speculation.
I felt the same way about 205's untill I saw the results of a 1 to 1 swap VS LS6 heads on a ZO6 at LAPD. That evaporated any doubt I had about the AFR's potential.
Let us wait for the test results.

It doesn't really matter what they flow out of the box. As long as they make power once somebody with an EXTENSIVE knowledge of cylinder heads and air-flow characteristics gets to work on these heads, the potential is huge.

Um... so in your opinion AFR doesn't have extensive knowledge of heads and air-flow? umm... Ok... yeah, right

That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that we'll have to wait until head-porters get their hands on these bare castings before the true potential is discovered.

CFM doesnt mean that the heads will make huge amounts of power, What makes the AFR's so good is that you get good flow numbers 300cfm out of a 205cc runner which means you get great velocity and cylinder filling, which means bada$$ hp and torque, plus it wont be another 430rwhp car that runs 12.50's

my guess is head porters will just "touch them up", from what i am hearing, it may be best to leave them the way they are

Saving cash right now for the 205, going to get a mild cam to go with em, 220-220 116LSA or around there. Hoping for 370-380+ RWHP through stock manifolds and cats in my stock A4. Nice little sleeper vehicle, hope people (ignorant) keep ******* these heads so I get a cheaper price come December.
Regards,

Before swap Z06 385rwhp w/tune
After out of box AFR 205 66cc 409rwhp 391tq w/tune

Then I got a tip on TSP special offer $2189.00 with dual PP "gold" springs, so I ordered a set getting them flat milled to 62cc (11:1 CR with Cometic gasket)

One other thing.

I recall a while back the discussion on better locks being designed by someone and then sold with the dual gold Patriots springs. Someone had tried a timing light on stock locks and had discovered serious issues. Does anyone know if these have the updated locks?

So he never completed it? From what I recall this was supposed to help alleviate changing springs so often on these cars.
