Default H/C install 1/2 done!

well im about 10 hours into my heads, cam, and intake install and about half done! i got my old heads off, new cam in, and new heads on bolts are in just need to torque them all down....

so far no big problems... taking off passenger coil pack SUCKED!!! and removing crank pulley SUCKED (we broke 2 crappy pullers)...
pulled the lines off the p.s cooler and p.s fluid went all over the floor!!!!!!
(i did not know what that metal pipe on the upper rad. hose was!, o-well)
removing and installing the cam was easy! dot to dot only took 5 min! (i hope it was right on???) (it looked good but im a worry freak!)
cylinder walls looked brand new!!! ( well car only has 19K miles) everything looked goog and clean but exhaust valves were white! im a little lean...
its really tempting to pull out all my A/C crap but i think ill just leave it?

i have FLP headers and i really didnt want to drop the headers so i just un bolted from the heads and kind of pryed them a little without dropping them!!!! i must say it was a little tricky but it beats ******* with long tubes without a car rack! so im hoping to finish up tomorrow, ill post a new thread when im done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im a little nervous but i think all will be o.k.

Don't worry bout the color of your exhaust valves. That color is from the motor idleing just before you shut it down. The only way to check your plug color for WOT is to shut the motor down @WOT and pull a plug and read it. Or get a wide band sensor and dont worry about reading plug color for AFR.

Good luck with the install. I did mine a couple of months ago. Pulled it apart one day and put it together the next.

well im all done! finished it all up in a 8 hour marathon all by my self! she fired on the first try with my cut-out open! and DAMN it sounded awsome!!!! its ALOT louder with the cam in it! the comp 222/224 .566/.568 114 is alot lumpyer than i thought it would be! sounds BAD ***! it idled perfect no stalling or stumbling....
we let it idle for about 15min while SCOTT (owner of GEN3) pluged in his labtop and checked all my vitals...
took it around the block....(hard to tell power increase at first be cause i was driving it so soft, but we just got done driving it again and you can really feal the differance now! throttle responce is telepathic...well tune it next week and ill post some dyno results and let you know how the car feals when i REALLY get on it!

no leaks no breaks no nothing! install went perfect!!!

TWO thumbs up to GEN3 performance for supplying my stage 2 heads, COMP cam, LS6 intake and everything else...
SCOTT is a great guy! if anyone wants some COOL valve covers check out there web site!
