Options for saving these heads
Hello everyone, i picked up some c5r heads (casting 0090) and a custom intake for pretty cheap today and the only catch is that there was a hairline crack that was welded behind a valve seat. These heads apear to use bronze valve seats and the weld will have to be machined to accept the new seats of course. I am no expert on valve seat material but this is a street/ high rpm road racing engine (re-sleeved ls3 up to a 427) and i am looking to turn some decent rpm. I know theses heads are pretty special, espically with their very small chambers and all but i was curious as to how well the bronze seats would do on the street. Should i consider a different material? Who is the most trusted source for machining these heads and installing new seats and valves? Thank you for any suggestions!!
p.s please dont turn this into a why not an ls7 head discussion lol

Try one of the two mentioned...
I'm closest to people in the Top Alcohol drag racing circles. Look into Total Flow Performance.
Steve Sanchez does amazing work! I send him all of my specialty jobs that I can not do in house due to time restraints or resource restraints.
