Default LS 1 with Mods and a dropped valve....

I am relatively new to the LS scene, and have been collecting parts for a bit waiting to decide what to put one in and in what form. I just picked up an LS1 from an 01 Camaro that has a bunch of mods but dropped a valve. It has only 24k miles on it, and the mods were basically done when the car was new. It has a set of SLP Stage III CNC heads, SLP throttle body, SLP MAF, 36lbhr injectors, a Thunder Racing cam with 242/248 .608/612-110LSA, etc.
SLP basically doesn't exist now so info on these heads is hard to find. What I do know is that they are 62cc and have 2.08 valves and cathedral ports, what I don't get is that the intake is square port? Problem is like the title suggests a valve made contact and there is damage to the #1 cylinder wall and piston (basically piston is junk and cylinder wall is cracked), and the combustion chamber didn't fair to well either. Head can be repaired, but from what I'm reading the block might as well be thrown out. I can see marks on every piston from valve contact as well, so clearance is obviously an issue.
I also have three 5.3 longblocks (unknowns), one early iron headed 6.0 longblock, one 6.0 low mile shortblock that needs a rod, and a nice complete 6.0/4L80E setup, and obviously a 5.7 rotating assembly (minus one piston). Trying to decide what to build from the various pieces/parts? Plan is to go into my 69 Chevelle, N/A, Automatic trans. If I put these heads on an LQ4 that is dished pistons from the factory will that eliminate the clearance issue? Is that cam just to aggresive? And these questions just lead to more....like how do I tune whatever I build? I am in Montana and it might as well be the Gobi desert when it comes to LS tuners!

With a cam that size and no valve reliefs im not surprised the valves smacked the pistons

That looks to be a cathedral port Ls6 intake. Not square port

With the 2.08 intake valve and a 242/248 duration cam sounds sort of "max effort" for back in the day.

SLP sold some CNC'd AFR heads with 2.08 intake valves.

What type of SLP cylinder head do you have 243's, 706's , 241's, AFR something else?

Regarding tuning "Frost" has an excellent reputation with mail order tuning if there isn't anyone local that's suitable. Just Google "tuned by frost" .

Problem is I have no idea what cylinder head I have. They are labeled SLP 161 as you can see, but no other markings anywhere. I have all of the original receipts for the build and they just say the same. I also have no idea what size the throttle body is. SLP does not exist in the same manner it did back then, they sold to Roush and its only exhaust and cold air stuff now. I was told that SVE is the old SLP, and I have contacted them hoping for some info on the heads as far as flow etc. I do know that the combo put down 540rwhp as I looked at the dyno sheet. This was all done in 2004...

Can you post additional pictures of the heads? Intake ports, exhaust ports, chambers etc. Someone might recognize the type.

The intake looks like an LS6 and TB looks like a 78mm stock TB. The TB may be a ported stock TB. Measuring it should be easy enough.

Cathedral stuff!

The LS1 block can be re-sleeved. CHA-CHING! Best bet is to focus on the 6.0/4L80 combination and perhaps using the cnc'd heads.
