Honestly that is a very good question.
I think a testament to the 4032 is the recent dyno throwdown where LME used a mahle 4032 in their 427lsx. Had some pretty high boost and i think 30 runs? The head gasket blew before the pistons flinched and that was 1500hp and a TON of torque.

So, that being said, i think i would draw the line at 250hp of nitrous and 20lbs just to be safe. I mean guys are pushing the stock 200k mile hyper e pistons over that, but i like to be a little conservative.

That happens a lot when an engine assembler slaps an engine together vs a diligent engine builder.
Most issues go back to the wrong taper piston was used. Bad machine work could always be a factor.

Neither my 383 or 416 are oil burners both have 4 inch stroke and Wiseco pistons with skirt taper designed specifically for using a 4 inch crank. The 383 uses less oil than my 99 TA did 100 percent stock.. The 416 uses like a stick LS1 - half quart between oil changes. Several other piston companies have similar solutions.

Glad to hear that. I’ve been debating going with a 3.9 strictly because of oil burning but this makes sense as to why I’ve seen a couple guys with 383s having issues burning oil.

Happy to share my. 02 worth of info

BTW - NA with the right piston & ring package the 4 inch crank shouldn't be an issue in an LS1/LS2/LS3 etc. With Forced Induction probably not worth the cost of a stroker crank in most cases since boost can make massive hp with a stock 3.62 crank.

They’re all tapered.
