Default questions about changing pistons

Does a re-balancing need to be done if going to lighter pistons? It would be approx 435g (stock cast LS1) going to 399g (Mahle Powerpak). I don't know the pin weights, I'm guessing about the same (these are all stock pin diameter). Related question: 4 of the rods are being honed for out-of-round, with .002 oversize bearings I believe. Will that affect the weight and balance also?

Also, anyone know about the rings that come with the Powerpak pistons - is the oil control ring the lighter type that lets more oil through? Don't want even more oil through the pcv.

Absolutely a re-balance will need to be done. Anytime you start changing things on the bottom end, it's always safe to have it done, especially considering how cheap it is.
