Default Removing rear cover questions

I've been wanting to remove my rear cover to check what cam is in my car (previous owner put it in and I don't know the specs) and I'm getting ready to do a clutch swap and figured it was a good time to check for any cam specs/numbers/brand ect..
When removing the rear cover, do I need to replace the rear main seal? Gaskets? I'm sure it's a good idea to do that but was just wondering if it's absolutely necessary. I don't see any oil leaking from it. I was just wanting to pop the cover off, look at the back of the cam then bolt it back in place.

If you're VERY careful, you might get away with it.
But once you have it torn down that far, it would make sense to just change it, if for nothing else than piece of mind.

$20 for new gasket and seal I wouldnt even think about putting it back without changing them.
Even if you tried to get away with it chances are the rubber is hard and will never seal back correctly
