Oil pump selection

Hello everybody..

actually im bulding a LS1 for re install on my 2002 z28, already have a 799 ported heads with dual springs, titanium retainers and a BTR stage 3 camshaft..

but i need a oil pump to lubricate my new internals.. so... what OIL PUMP is best ?? HIGH PRESSURE OR HIGH VOLUME?

Hi pressure. Hi volume is not needed for any stock non-VVT, non-DOD/AFM engine with stock clearances.

Re-read my post above yours. Yes, with looser clearances you would need a higher volume of oil. Stock clearances, normal oil volume.

Melling 10295 (high pressure) will be fine. I only use the 10296 or 10355 (high volume) pumps when the bearing clearances are loosened up.

High pressure would be my recommendation.
