Default 5.3 with gen 4 valve clearance?

I’ve read through lots of posts and still have a question. I’m putting together a gen 3 with gen 4 rods and flat top pistons. The engine is out of a 04 Yukon. I’ve had it rebalanced. I’m using stock heads and cam. I wondering if I should clay the piston to valve clearance, or will I be ok with the stock cam and heads.

You should be fine. Gen IV rods are the same length as Gen III

ALL LS rods except 4.8 and LS7 are the same length. If they are stock flat tops there should be no issue.
