Default BTR stage 3 with milled 243s

Hello,

Sorry for the redundancy of this post but I didn't find an answer for my specific situation elsewhere. I am working on an ls1/t56 swap currently, the parts I have so far are:

Stock ls1
Ls6 intake
BTR stage 3 NA cam, springs and pushrods (231/242 .617"/.592" 112+2)
Long tube headers

Next on my list is a pair of 243s and I'm looking at getting them milled and maybe ported. My question is, how much can you safely mill 243s with this cam without ptv clearance issues? I'm not very knowledgeable in this department and I've gotten answers between .010 and .020. Would love some guidance here.

Other upgrades I'm considering are porting my throttle body and swapping injectors. Do you have any suggestions or changes that I should make in the meantime? I'm building it as a weekend car, if I can get in the 420-440rwhp range I will be happy. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I would call a reputable shop like TEA and ask them, they have done many and will know what is safe for you. As for your HP goals, it depends on so many things but for a relatively stock vehicle (trans and diff, heavy wheels and such) you may want to look at some ported heads and a fast intake. With the ls6 intake and stock 243s and that cam you should be looking at an honest 400-420whp.

This^ make sure you use a head gasket the same thickness as the one you plan on using or factor the compressed thickness of it into your results (if you have room to check w/o a HG) there are a lot of variables that factor into PTV clearance so it’s best to measure yourself
