Default Are my heads screwed?

I had replaced a bent push rod awhile back car ran fine got on it the other day and it started makeing a loud tapping noise. Pulled the valve cover and went straight to the push rod I had replaced. When I removed the rocker arm here is what I saw http://hometown.aol.com/art99ss/index.html (that is the push rod I replaced the first time, the bottom pic shows what I saw) What are my options? I'm guessing the loud tapping is caused by the rod hitting the side. Please share your ideas.

That doesn't hurt the Head. The problem I see is what is bending the pushrod?I would take a guess that the lifter is no good.

That's what I am thinking something must be wrong with the lifter since the rocker arm seems ok. It was tapping loud that is why I pulled the rod to check but it was fine. Any other ideas? Thanks

Lifter collapsed allowed the rod to receed under the heads surface and was trapped against the under side(the pushrod disappeared into the hole).Cam swings around forces the push rod up and it makes a brand new hole(punched through he head surface=extra hole). This is my version any others????

I thought I had bent a set of pushrods. That is nuts. I like how you say, "I believe it was caused by over revving."

How can you not be positively sure? I figure you would realize you bent something looking at that pushrod. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

I would definitely make sure your lifters are not your problem and get those replaced ASAP.
