We have a few options and offer members 7% off ! We can also custom build something trying to keep in your budget. Let me know if we can help.

thank you. But I like building my own engines. Just looking for the best bang for my buck. I’d like to use my lq4 just want the compression at least 10-5-1yo 11-1. I have a buddy that ports heads so I was just curious if I could run ls3 heads and intake or that would be worse then 243 heads and a ls6 intake

The LS3 heads should make more power up top than the 243 heads and LS6 intake, A better intake and ported 243 heads would narrow the gap.
If you have E85 available you can bring the compression up considerably.

12.4:1 motor with 823's and an LS3 intake on this LQ9 build. I'm thinking about running this on C85.

Using the right parts and knowing what to use will get you where you want to be at a fair price.
The build I did for my sons car is a LS2 based 408, 10.8:1 CR, Mildly Ported the heads myself (243s and I'm not an amateur), decent cam, Fast 102, NW TB and a few little things here and there.
His last dyno was 500/482 on a mediocre tune on a pump 93/110 mix.
Which we know its making more because he runs side by side with hellcats and cars we know are @ the 620hp mark.
If you invest in anything...get good cylinder heads.

Like i said in post #9 Here is the absolute best bang for your dollar

"get a set of lq9/Ls2/l76 pistons (Flat top)
823/821 heads/ Ls3 intake
any stage 3 ls3 cam, and a set of longtubes."

This will put you at 10.5:1 compression with a .045 headgasket

A set of factory 823/821 heads and ls3 intake (total around $1000-$1200)
will be equal to a set of PORTED 243/799's with FAST 102 intake. ($1800 -$2000)
