Default ready for ls1 full rebuild....

ok so.... i have decided to go with afr210 heads or to get my current 241's cnc'd by A.I. --- I will be getting a mild / smoggable cam probably from texas speed. and i am looking at their rotating assembly the "TSP 347 C.I.D. LS1/LS6 Rotating Assembly" (will add bearing set & have it balanced by them). i have the funds to purchase mentioned components & will either tackle the rebuild with a buddy that's rebuilt many over the years if we can find time to connect, or i have another trusted Ls guy that i may just pay to do all of the work (i've redone my & my sons entire suspension & rebuilt both of our rear ends, do brakes/alternaters/starters/spark plugs/belts etc... but i'm no engine guy!!!) - is there anything else i need ? i will be calling tsp for a consult but just figured i'd see what all have to say here or if anyone has any suggestions/input on anything i'm not thinking of / aware of ? this motor will never see F.I. or nitrous.... do i even need this rotating assembly or would i be fine with an oem master rebuild kit for the bottom end? .... oh and reason for 210's or my 241's cnc'd is because i live in cali & just want what i can get and pass LEGAL smog with with no issues. not looking to gain 100 whp - 40-70 would be totally fine with me!

More folks will read and respond when the body of text is broken up into paragraphs. That makes the queations easier to read.

No forced induction etc a stock rebuild kit would likely be kuat fine. WS6 Store has an excellent reputation with their kits. They can also help with suggesting various odd and ends that are needed plus appropriate cam suggestions.

To be Cali legal all parts will need CARB approval etc.

More details like what sort of car or truck this is for and other details will help folks on the forum give better advice.

Good luck with the project.

Spare the wallet and get the rebuild kit for 699 from ws6store. Comes with everything you need. Have texas speed grind you up a mild smog cam and port the heads and add bigger valves. I believe the fast and msd intakes are carb compliant. I'd see if you could find a used 92 laying somewhere that will bolt right up. Keep the exhaust choice tame to not agitate the emission *****.

Full rebuild = First disassemble it to the bare block and have a machine shop clean it, inspect the bores, install new cam bearings. Have the bore checked to see if it needs to go oversize so you know what size pistons to get before you order the rotating assembly.
