Default Oil pressure

Hey all. I have a 2000 ws6 and hot oil pressure is around 19-21 psi after a few passes and 45 wot. Is That normal at 155k miles.

I have another ws6 with 165k miles but that one has 65 psi wot and 40 hot.

Have you checked it with a mechanical gauge?

On the block "right around the corner" from where the pump is.

There are two spots on the block. One is on the divers side at the very front. The other is drivers side also, above the oil filter. It comes out of the block at an angle. They are both metric Allen head plugs. You’ll need one of these to adapt your mechanical gauge with...

If it turns out to be accurate, those oil numbers are not great. You need 10psi per 1000 RPM. So, while the idle is acceptable, but low, the WOT number is worrisome. I would expect to see 60+ psi as you see on your other car for a 6000 RPM run.

May be time to look at the bearings. And given the cost of fixing that, a JY 5.3L and a small cam would be cheaper and likely perform better than the stock LS1.

Or, depending on the budget, the JY 5.3L and a cheap turbo kit could be a good (and fun) way to replace the current motor.

Those gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Definitely get a mechanical gauge like the others said.
