How can you tell if a head has been replaced since factory? Serial number? Should i take these to machine shop to have heads and rockers cleaned or just run it? I'm doing cam and valve train upgrades. I've heard engine run but drivers side head looks newer/less discoloration. Thanks in advance!
One side of the PCV system draws in fresh air; hat side looks clean. The other side is where dirty crankcase contents go to be drawn into the intake to be burned. So yeah, it's COMPLETELY normal for the 2 sides to look different, in fact something would probably be seriously wrong if they didn't.
