Default Cam swap help

trying to do a cam swap in car without dropping pan or oil pump. I'm running an ls2 tensioner(guide) and I can't get the chain off the cam gear. Is this possible?
chain, sprockets, and pump all have less than 5k miles on them.

Once you Line the marks up and unbolt the cam gear you should be able to get the chain off

I have all that done, can't seem to get enough slack on the chain because the sprocket hits the top of the guide.

Can you get the guide off? 2 10mm bolts.

Once you have the dot on the cam gear at 6:00 and the crank gear at 12:00 you should be able to remove the cam gear bolts and wiggle it off the alignment pin on the cam.

I finally got it, a lot of 4 letter words later. The guide bolts were blocked by the oil pump. I was able to get enough play in the oil pump to be able to get the teeth of the cam sprocket past the guide and get enough slack to get the chain off. Then the Allen heads rounded out to take the bracket that held the guide on(my block wasn't drilled), so I had to weld nuts on them to get them out. Old cams out, new ones in, gonna cool down a bit and have dinner. Then I'll go degree it, and button everything up.

Had tsp 228/232 went with a tick sns stage 3 now. The tsp cam had great manners and was good down low, felt like it flattened out pretty early. I wanted something that would pull up top. Its a lq4 bored with flat tops, ported, bowl blended, vjed 243s, pac 660 springs. Running a vengeance ported fast 92 with warr 92mm tb, 1 3/4 midlengths to true 3" duals with an xpipe. All in a bmw e39 wagon, t56, 3.62 rear gear in a m5 diff.
