Default Ls6 block 2003? Timing chain

Hello,
in middle of turbo conversion.
block is LS6 with 241 heads but maybe amissmatch of parts over time as still not sure where its originally from.
Question is as i think its an 03 block vin stamp, as i am upgrading to turbo low boost, should i replace the timing chain??
its a huge job to lift up engine as pulley fouls crossmember so would have to jack up engine to remove pulley to replace chain...
however i think its a two part timing cover but im guessing i cant replace the chain with (LS2 chain?) Just from removing the timing top cover....?
any advice greatly appreciated.
regards
gavin

You need to be able to slip the chain over the end of the crank. So the front cover and oil pump come off.
How many miles on the chain?

If you're not pulling the front cover to do a pump or cam I wouldn't pull it specifically to do a chain. If you pull it to do a chain you better do a cam and pump while it's apart lol.
