Broken long crank lq4?
Debating on getting a different crank for my turbo build. (700-800whp 2000 lq4, forged rod/piston, sum stg. 2 turbo cam, 317 heads, probably vsracing 80mm) Running a th400 so it would save me a buck or two to run it.
Has anyone ever broke one? If so power/rpm?
thanks!

My 02 you can take it or leave it!
I'm running a stock LS1 crank on a forged rods and pistons but I'm not making 700-800 whp either. Your nearing the limits of the cast crankshaft and I'm not saying it wouldn't hold up to repeated abuse but obviously it would be in the back of my mind just as it is yours. Possible weak link and if your really beating on the car then chances are you will find it..

thanks! That's exactly it. Don't have have it in the truck yet and its eating at me. I have only heard of like 2 or 3 ppl breaking cranks across the forum. I feel like it'll be okay. But at the same time, the long cranks were limited run so that brings the question on if they are as durable as the new ones. Not enough data on it. I've about hit my budget on the motor so unless someone whips out a pic of a snapped one I'll prob chance it.
