The Wegner engines that powered the Nsscar series trucks were at 620-640HP with CNC'd 799 heads, lightweight valvetrain, moderate compression and not alot over 7000RPM. Pretty basic parts....

Details matter!! Are we talking engine on a Dyno HP or Chassis HP RWHP this make a huge difference!!!

BTW with Factory Non ported Ls3 heads hydraulic cam with compression below 12.0
Fact. Add a little here and there 650 and running easy. New day updated parts #1 would be a good port job 🤐

A highly respected legend in the LS game to me shrink down the valve timing events when using the L92/LS3 heads....
In other words people run a cam that doesn't hit the sweetspot in the heads or they simply don't turn the motor up. I see guys on here all the time running big runner heads and shifting at 6200 RPM 🤣.

I didn't say any numbers.
if you dyno and and have alot sim experience you begin to trust it.
i use to literally have it running in the background while doing a pull.
i have a blue print of what i want now.
Now i just have to make it reality.
maybe 243 heads arent what i want.
i have alot of decions to make and more research on parts.
intake is going to be very important .
And rec port probably better choices there
