Default School me on lifters

I have a 99 trans am got the ole ls1 in it gonna throw some ARP rod bolts so I can stop stressing about the crap 99 bolts snapping on me and my heads are comming off for a change up and head stud kit

I've learned quite a bit threw the years but never really learned much about lifters, I seen some say running a link bar setup is better than running lifters with the plastic trays and have read that the ls7 lifters rob power, I'm running a MS4 cam 660 lift springs so what lifters yall recommend I throw in there? Btw I got stock lifters in it right now so they gotta go regardless not sure if it matters but I got 7.400 push rods

If it makes any difference, LS7 lifters are a good improvement over what you now have. And 7.4" pushrods are stock length.

Morel 6504 or Johnson 2110. You might need different length push rods...so be sure to measure.

With the lift of that cam I'd look at Johnson or Morel lifters and aftermarket rocker arms.

How do you measure to check what length you need? I've always just ordered what ever length the manufacturer of the camshaft told me to run with their setup

"Their setup" does not consider head gasket thickness or how much the heads are milled.
There are dozens of threads covering pushrod measurement here.
The search engine is your friend....

Some times you cant win with threads 😁 get told search is your friend in a thread you make and then get flamed for reviving an old thread 🙃 but I do love the search function I've read some awesome threads posted by patg, mamo, chrs1313, Darth just to name a few and got them booked marked I drive my girl nuts sometimes with all the reading I've done but it's nice having some nice tech articles to nerd out to

Read the link and watch the videos. Different people have different ways of doing it. The way it's written out on GPI is probably the most accuarate here. But these are all great resources to help understand setting push rod length.
