Default Cam advice. Converter stall advice needed

I have an lq4 that I want to install sloppy stage 2 into. It’s going into a square body 1/2 ton with 4l80e trans. Rear gears yet to be determined. Stock intake. Mid length headers . What stall on converter? Does this cam require new valve springs? Engine has 120k mi. Might I need bigger injectors? I’m new to ls engine so any light you can shine will be appreciated

With a .585 lift, you will need springs with about .600 capacity.

Rear gears yet to be determined.
???

Stock intake.
Stock for what?

Does this cam require new valve springs?
Depends on what's there now; but if they're stock, they won't last 5 minutes. OTOH you could conceivably find used ones that would work. Bottom line, the cam requires valve springs appropriate to it; and if you don't know FOR SURE that that's what you already have, then you need to replace whatever they are with some that are compatible.

Might I need bigger injectors?
Maybe. What's there now? Bigger than what?

Back up a step or 2 and drink in the big pitcher. What is this going to be used for? Why that particular cam? (not that there's anything particularly good, or bad, about it; just, why that particular one?) What gears does it have now? What gears are you going to put in it? What's your overall budget for the project? What size tires? What does it weigh?

For the stall converter I would recommend calling the camshaft manufacturer and ask them for a recommendation on what size stall you will need and after that I'd recommend going threw Yank for the converter I've been running a 4000SS in my car for 3 years and it has been excellent

Can you recommend a cam company you’ve dealt with. Treated you right. I find most company’s will up sell. Stuff I might not actually need. The rear end is almost 40 year old one legged 10 bolt . I’ll address that later. The intake is stock for lq4. 2003 Chevy 2500. I’m told it’ll do the job well enough. The truck is weekend use mostly around town. Not racing or road course action.

Just called Texas speed and was told the bald eagle NA with 3200 stall converter would fulfill my needs. Any opinions on this cam. Seems similar to sloppy stage II with slightly more lift.

Stock intake is fine, the truck intakes are decent. I dont think you will be disappointed with that cam.
I would however go with a little bit higher stall unless you have already purchased one. Something in the 3600-4000 range would be a little better but a 3200 would be fine.

If you want a cheaper option the summit stage 2 cam 8707 I think is a great choice.

Also do LONGTUBE headers... not mid length
And you will probably need injectors unless you bump the fuel pressure up a little bit.

Also. The guy at Texas speed said I could reuse timing chain and gear if it looks ok. The engine has 120k on the clock. Is this acceptable?

120k on LS engine = "barely broken in"
