I got a pump from a guy saying it was on a low hour engine, not much run time. Got it today and its def not in the shape of what I was described. my fault for not asking questions and add'l photos but wondering if I should even run this on my car. see pics.
Looks like it was installed wrong somehow. Looks like the crank sprocket rubbed the housing all over the place. The damage by the pickup O-ring just looks like they were having trouble getting the clamp thing lined up and used power tools.
Take it apart and look at it inside. The damage that shows is just superficial, and by itself isn't too bad, but if it's farkled inside, like if it's been forced heavily to one side or something, that's a deal breaker.
Could be worse... A friend of mine thought he got a deal on a brand new pump. Nope, the money saved was not worth hassle...

Didn't look close enough when he received it thinking it was a legit sealed new product. When he went to install it a few weeks later he noticed it had been tampered with...
