Lets all suggest what the OP should do before it's been properly tuned.

Great job tech!

I'm getting HP tuner for myself soon lol I have a friend who has been not letting me touch his computer for a long time haha. He is always however impressed with how much more low end power than stock my combos seem to always create Even when aggressively cammed, one wonders why the stock 706 head with that smaller than stock valve 1.89" vs. 2" valve and the smaller than stock size combustion chamber works so well on a stock 3.9 bore, Believe me it doesn't work as well on a 4-in or bigger bore past 5500 ask me how I know lol. The only thing I haven't tried yet but I know would work really well with no converter or gear with the bigger aftermarket ported heads is a stock 4.8/5.3 cam In a stock 5.7 short block with those big heads lol

when you have a 273 rear gear and a stock converter You are not allowing the engine to do any work. Work is RPM and you don't have it so you have to compromise somewhere to create that energy when very little work is allowed to be done IE port velocity I'm pretty sure a really smart guy mentioned it in like the second post on this thread lol why do I keep coming back here and rambling no one cares Argh.

Default Update on the situation, Found a Solution.

Radio silence for a little while, as I ran into issues. My Harmonic balancer came loose.

So replacing the harmonic balancer I went ahead and replaced the Cam as Well..
I explained the issues I was facing and my preferences to Lonnie at Texas Speed and he suggested that my Torque woes would be nicely addressed with this Cam.
215/220 .629/.600 114.5 LSA 112 ICL

It did the trick.
Didnt change anything else, just a tamer Cam. Still have everything stock except the PRC 227 heads.
I've got a smooth Idle, Plenty of Low end torque and Nice Mid and High.

I havent got it Dynoed yet , but it seems what I needed was a little less LSA.
I'm going to go get it dynoed in about two weeks. I'll post that if anyones interested.

Thanks for all the support.

Nice cam! I never even knew TSP made that spec. I have their 216/220 .600/.600 112+2 in my 5.7 LS1 that I'm happy with but would have purchased that cam you have but on 112 if they offered it to me when I spoke to them. How much advance? I may have also had my shop run +4 on my current cam if I had my time again. I think 108 centreline may have given me a but more low down based in my reading on this forum.

Good luck with the dyno runs.

Dead in 4th as you described is likely because the torque converter is locked.
Stock tune locks it early.
It also locks in third gear.
Did your tuner adjust that?

Can you post the tune?

I also have a 2000 coupe A4.

You Were Spot On With That Ron!! Meanwhile I swapped to a less aggressive Cam. Its made the car a lot more to my liking.

It was suggested to me by Lonnie at TSP.
I havent dyno run it yet, and am close to a base tune still.
But its torquey and wants to run. SOTP says Hell Yess .

It Idles like stock, not lopey, which i like, but probably isnt to the liking of most. So far Its great, I've got my fun to drive car back. !!

Glad you got it to workout with just a cam swap.
