Do bigger valves REALLY make a difference?
I'm talking stock valves vs. 2.02/1.6. I have a set of LS6 heads and I really like the lightweight valves they have. If I were to get a valve job using the stock valves and a valve job using the slightly bigger valves, how much difference would it make? This would be on a ported head on a N/A stock displacement motor.
i know bigger valves are better because they have more "skirt" area but couldn't you have the same flow effect with a smaller valve and a proper valve job?

I would say no they dont help. If you check patriot's web sight the S1 heads are flowed on a 3.905 bore and the S2's are flowed on a 4.00 bore. So what made the power the exstra valves or the exstra size of the motor?

Bigger valves will flow more only if the bowls under the valves are enlarged. Larger valves on same size bowls can actually reduce flow. Bowl bores should be no less than .89 x valve diameter.
