Default Stamping or engraving connecting rods

just about to disassembly 5.3 block do you guys stamp or engrave connecting rods and main caps ?

Have been told stamping can distort caps ?

Any thoughts guys

Although the actual amount is minimal, any mark you make on a part is a potential stress riser that lowers the overall strength. Use a crayon or grease pencil if you must mark load bearing parts. As for stamping a cap, I would bitchslap anyone who did that to my parts. If all else fails, tying a marker with string or taping some sort of reference will do.

Caps are generally numbered from the factory.
