Default OIL HEAT

Hey guys I don`t know if I am posting this in the right section, but I had a question about my "almost stock" Z. Today I was changing my oil(with Mobil 1 of course) and I noticed that the cat on the drivers side is close as hell to the oil filter. Would placing a heat shield between the cat and the oil filter help keep the oil cooler or does the cat not pose a problem to the oil temp. being that close to the filter. To be honest with you guys I would like to just get rid of the cats but that would not make me a law abiding citizen.LOL. I just thought I would post this and see if I can get some opinions or facts on this subject. Thanks for any help.

Default Re: OIL HEAT

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. When moving there's probably enough airflow to reduce the heat transfer.
