Default Cam suggestion

Im assembling a lq block bored to .030. It has stock crankshaft but 6.125 compstar rods and flat top diamond racing pistons. Arp studs and arp head bolts. 243 heads with with sodium filled/hollow stem valves and 660 comp cams 921 springs, new ls2 chain, new melling high pressure oil pump, ls1 lifters, ls6 intake manifold, ati balancer. Has no car for it right now. Looking to get a street/strip cam, that can take advantage of the present parts to the max on occasional racing but tha can be use on street too. Not having a car now, dont know if is going to be used in a manual trans car or automatic. Know that will need a converter for an automatic car. Last thing, thinking that probably will sell the engine, the cam should be something affordable. Any ideas/suggestions ???

The Summit Stage iv or Cam Motion Titan King would be great with this setup. I would swap the intake for a Fast 102 or MSD Atomic.

Because you state AFFORDABLE and may resell, I would leave it up to potential buyer.

If unsure and still want AFFORDABLE, I would look for a deal on a cam, new or used, or go with a Summit Cam.

If you decide on Fast Intake, then I have a Cam Motion Titan King, 236-244, 621-604, 112+3 Cam, new in box, for $325 shipped and paypalled.

It all comes to budget and goals. Good luck.

So THAT'S where the different length valves come in! Thanks for the clarification Pooter!

LS7 intake valves are shorter also. Lash caps make up the difference.

I thought about writing "except LS7" but wrote "typical LS motors" instead

I see the LS7 as a non LS lol.

I should have written something about the ls7, thanks for clarifying scott

Yessir. If I recall correctly, they are .027 longer.

Someone should look that up before taking my word on it though.

I’m putting together a cam only LS2 right now, went with the EPS 234/246 based on people’s success with it. Geoff at EPS is awesome to work with. In the end it all boils down to application.
