Apparently I'm the only one who have been told to heat cycle new valve springs. Oh well.

You are not. It is a very common question I get asked a lot. Materials and processing has come leaps and bounds since the 80's when this was a rule of thumb.

Like a piece of broken lifter? Ask me how I know!!!!

If you heard it hit the header why are you looking for it inside the engine?

Because I did not see where it went and could not find it and was worried it went into the drain back hole.
But now have started up the car a few times, drained the oil and everything seems ok. Still did not find it.

So I want to thank everyones help on this subject because it was really concerning to me. Thanks Chris

Also valvesprings especially cylinder 7 is tight back their, and it could of been a possibility it flew back in the drain hole, thats why I brought this to LS1tech's attention. This site has always help me in the many yrs building and working on LS1's

Default Valve keeper is In cylinder on top of piston

So I tried everything to get this valve keeper out.Tried sticking a magnet in the spark. Plug hole, try getting a little claw. A thing to get inside there and grab it while looking at it with the endoscope. But I can't pull it out while looking at it with the endoscope.Any help I can get would be really Appreciative.

I drop a header bolt once. Looked for over an hour for it. Years later I found it wedged in while swapping motor mounts
