Default Pushrod math question inside

This is a simple process and it may be going over my head completely 😳.

I have a 4.8 with BTR stage one 4.8 turbo cam, PRC 2.5 58cc heads and BTR small bore 9layer MLS HGs (No turbo kit yet).

My pushrod math with an adjustable PR=7.350” with a Solid LS lifter.
I have New LS7 lifters installed in the engine currently which have a .050 taller cup.

so… 7.350 - .050 (for LS7 lifters) = 7.300” + .100” for preload would put me back to 7.400” Correct? Thanks for the help..

If you are measuring actual length, why subtract the .050?

Also, isn't .100 preload on the really high side for preload? I don't remember that the max is.

I used a “fixed” LS1 lifter. LS7 lifters have a different cup that is .050 taller so subtracting.050 was necessary to get correct figures. On a LS7 lifter .100 preload is the general consensus on where you want to be.

Why not measure with your actual lifters? Find zero lash and then add your preload. That would be the most accurate way.

Your math seems correct.

Agreed. Math doesn't always come out the way you expect. It's that way with carpentry also. Just measure and cut. Always works.

Sorry I missed that part. I'd been at work for like 18 hours.
