Default Loud random ticking noise…….

Cars been running great and after a long cruise today hear this. It’s a random tap/tick not completely consistent. Sometime it won’t make any noise at all.

Heads and cam car

Going to take the valve covers off when it cools down but what’s the consensus? Doesn’t feel down on power at all

Loose rocker arm? Lifters seem to be working properly

(see video attachment)

UPDATE - After disconnecting injector on #1 the noise went away - switched injectors from #1 & #3 and the noise continues at #1 and doesnt move over. Thinking this might be internal now....Going to double check the intake manifold and check header gaskets just to put that out of the equation.....any input would be appreciated

I think I figured it out. Unplugged #1 injector and no more noise….. guessing it needs a new injector

I don't think it was even ticking on every hit.

I just installed a new intake manifold. Had a few people say it sounds like a manifold leak.

Going to switch the injectors to the other side and see if it changes banks

Going to check compression on that cylinder and adjust rockers if that cylinder is low… I don’t think it’s header gasket but I might throw a gasket on there before I really start tearing it apart lol

you were right - after lots of troubleshooting, the exhaust bolt is stripped at front of driver head…now the fun part to try to hexicoil without removing head

Right angle drill.. they are slower and high torque. also easier to hold.
