Is This Engine Knock or (video) Posted in the Gen3 section for more eyes & ears.
SBE LQ9 with heads, cam and exhaust.
Just installed a triple disk last week and now I have a knock or rattle.
@MaroonMonsterLS1 suggested I unbolt the converter from the flexplate to silence everything converter back.
The last two times yesterday and today, starting while cold, the engine stalled numerous times. It's always fired right up and never stalled until now. Even with the flexplate disconnected from the converter it's stalling during cold startup.
Video shows idling with the converter connected and without. I think I can hear the same rattle but not as loud while unconnected.

The filter looks pretty clean. I can see an occasional shiny speck I thought was aluminum but dragging a magnate through each pleat the magnate picked up the specks. My guess it's normal camshaft & lifter wear. I'm running dual .660 springs with a fairly aggressive .629" .615" lobe.
