That's pretty much the exact cam I have, I use TSP 660 duals. I've whooped on them for 20k miles and they don't seem to be floating valves at 7000 rpm.

BTR's Platinum sping kit should work well with that cam.

Why an XER lobe camshaft?

That was one of the hot cam lobes 20+ years ago but there are many far superior cam lobes available these days. Ran an XER cam for 15 years & 130,000+ miles of loud sewing machine noise. Beat the absolute hell out of the valve train as springs, retainers & locks needed regular maintenance & replacement.

I had a Cam Motion/Futral cam years ago with almost identical specs. .598"/.603" lift, 232°/236° duration@.050 lift, on a 112° LSA. I ran 26921 Comp springs, and never had an issue. The 921s were a really good spring back in 2006. But I'm running a different Cam Motion/Futral cam now, with PAC duals. No problems at all, 35,000 miles/8 years........
