Default Engine noises

Hi, new to forum and tried searching but others noises seemed a little different.

I have a 1967 Firebird with a LS1 5.7L and Tremec T56 6 speed.

As you can hear in the video I have a bad squeak which I believe I found an “updated” alternator bracket that eliminates that. It tends to get less as it’s warmed up.

The scarier one is the loud tick I’m hearing all of a sudden. Just this week 2 rockers on 2 different cylinders came loose out of no where. I retighten them and 1 popped loose again and now the tick sound is there. Push rod looks good, rocker looks good, bolt hold rocker is good. Not sure what to do except take loose and retighten again.

any help please!!! Really want to get the car back out on road.

Beautiful car.
You mentioned squeaking followed by loose rockers and this noise.
I would pull the oil filter and cut it open looking for metal.

Defiantly sounds like a rocker tapping, how long have you had this combination up and running?

I have seen rockers come loose if they were torqued down while the valve was open on that particular rocker.

Rockers won't come loose if they're torqued correctly. If they came loose twice in just a week or so, and you torqued them properly, then there's either a problem with the aluminum threads in the head, or the steel threads on the bolts. Since steel trumps aluminum in the strength department, my guess is the threads in the head(s) are bad. If you didn't torque them properly, while the lifter is on the base circle of the respective cam lobe, then that is probably it. I believe they torque to 22ft/lbs, BUT-Research the correct torque specs to be sure. Hope this helps.......

OP is the rocker arm bolt loosening or is the push rod coming off the rocker. Need a little clarification, as this will have two completely different causes.
