5.3 oil pan question
'07 and up might have a bypass valve that is used with AFM to relieve oil pressure when AFM is in a certain state. I never used AFM so I'm not sure on that but I have removed that and plugged it.
Either way you can change the oil filter nipple, I've seen them with a hex on the inside that uses a 10mm (?) allen wrench, and I've seen some that have a hex on the outside to use a socket.
I'm not sure if it matters what filter is used. I have a nipple for both the PF63 filter which has larger threads and costs a few dollars more, and the PF61 which has smaller threads. Both are extended length filters than what usually comes stock.
